Privacy policy
Last updated:
This privacy policy explains how Emergency Medical Performance Systems Inc. (“EMPS”, “we”, “us”) handles information when you visit this website, emedperform.com, or contact us by email.
It covers this public marketing website only. The MedicDraft product, its demo portal, and any information an EMS agency processes in MedicDraft are covered by separate agreements and notices provided to agencies and their users.
Who we are
Emergency Medical Performance Systems Inc. builds MedicDraft, documentation software for emergency medical services (EMS). You can reach us about privacy at mackenzie@emedperform.com.
What we collect
Information you send us. If you email us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and the contents of your message. Please do not send patient names, incident details, or other protected health information.
Technical information needed to deliver the site. When you visit, our hosting and content delivery provider (Amazon Web Services) processes standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type, and the page requested so it can deliver the page securely and protect the site from abuse.
Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used. In the United States it is on by default and you can opt out; elsewhere it runs only if you choose Accept in our cookie banner. See Cookies and analytics for exactly what that collects.
We do not collect information through forms on this website, and we do not ask for any health information.
Cookies and analytics
We use one analytics tool, Google Analytics 4. Whether it runs before you make a choice depends on where you are visiting from:
- In the United States, analytics is on by default. A short notice tells you so, and you can choose Opt out there, or under Privacy choices in the footer, at any time.
- Everywhere else, we ask first. Until you choose Accept in the cookie banner, no analytics code loads, no analytics cookies are set, and nothing is sent to Google. If you choose Decline, that stays true.
A choice you have made on this site always takes priority over these defaults. We do not use advertising pixels, session recording, or chat widgets.
How we tell where you are. When you have not made a choice yet, your browser asks our content delivery network (Amazon CloudFront) for the country your connection appears to come from. Only the two-letter country code is returned; we do not store it or send it to Google. If the country cannot be determined, we treat you as outside the United States and ask first.
What Google Analytics collects when it is on
- The pages you view, the page you came from, and campaign tags in the link you followed (such as
utm_source). Other parts of web addresses are removed before anything is sent. - How you use our pages: clicks on links and buttons (including their visible text), which sections of a page you scroll to, how far you scroll, time spent on a page, and your steps in the interactive MedicDraft examples, which use synthetic information only.
- Page performance (loading and layout-stability timings) and technical error messages from our scripts.
- Information Google derives from your browser and connection: approximate location (country, region, and city), device type, browser, operating system, language, and screen size, together with a random identifier stored in the cookies listed below.
What we do not collect. We do not send Google names, email addresses (when you click an email link, we record only that the link was clicked), anything you type, or patient or health information. Our code drops data that looks like personal information before it is sent. Advertising storage, ad personalization, and Google signals are turned off, so this data is not used for advertising and is not linked to your Google account. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses; Google uses your IP address to estimate your approximate location and then discards it.
Cookies. When analytics is on, Google Analytics sets these first-party cookies on emedperform.com:
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
_ga |
Distinguishes visitors with a random identifier | 2 years |
_ga_<ID> (for example _ga_ABC123XYZ) |
Keeps track of your current session | 2 years |
This website sets no other cookies.
Your choice, stored in your browser. We remember your choice in your browser’s local storage under analytics_consent (accepted or declined) and analytics_consent_at (the date you chose). If you close the US notice with OK, we store the date in analytics_notice_dismissed_at so the notice does not keep reappearing; that does not change any setting. These values stay on your device and are not sent to us. We ask again after 12 months.
How long analytics data is kept. Google Analytics is set to keep visitor-level and event-level data for 2 months, the shortest period it offers. After that we only see aggregated reports, such as total page views.
Changing your mind. Use the Privacy choices link in the footer of any page to accept, decline, or opt out at any time. If you decline or opt out while analytics is on, it stops on that page and we delete the Google Analytics cookies we can reach. You can also clear cookies and site data in your browser, or install Google’s opt-out browser add-on.
Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track. If your browser sends either signal, we treat it as opting out, including in the United States: Google Analytics never loads, we do not look up your country, and we do not show the cookie banner or notice. We do not sell or share personal information for advertising.
Google’s role. Google LLC provides Google Analytics as our service provider and processes this data on our behalf. Google may process it in the United States and other countries. See Google’s privacy policy and how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
How we use information
- To reply to your message and continue a conversation you started, such as a demo request or beta question.
- To deliver, secure, and maintain this website.
- When analytics is on, to understand which pages and features are useful and to fix problems on the site.
- To meet legal obligations.
We do not use your information for automated decisions about you, and we do not use it to train artificial intelligence models.
Who we share it with
We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We use service providers that process information on our behalf, such as our website hosting provider, our email provider, and, when analytics is on, Google Analytics, only to provide those services to us. We may disclose information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep email correspondence for as long as it is needed for the conversation and any resulting business relationship, and then delete it unless we must keep it for legal reasons. Google Analytics data is kept as described in Cookies and analytics.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to receive a copy, or to object to or limit how we use it. You can also appeal a decision we make about your request.
To make a request, email mackenzie@emedperform.com. We will confirm receipt and respond within the time the applicable law requires. We will not treat you differently for exercising your rights. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you may also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
This website is intended for EMS professionals and agencies. It is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) for this website. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Where information is processed
We are based in the United States, and our service providers may process information in the United States. When analytics is on, Google may also process analytics data in other countries where it operates.
Changes to this policy
We will post any changes on this page and update the date above. If a change materially affects how we use information you have already provided, we will tell you before it takes effect.
